  • Q1: Briefly discuss any two methods of opening a drawing file.
    Ans: The methods are:
    • ➔ Using File → Open from the menu bar.
    • ➔ Clicking the Open icon on the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) or typing OPEN in the command line.
  • Q2: How will you open a file from QAT?
    Ans: Click the Open button on the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT), then browse and select the file you want.
  • Q3: Why are drawings locked in the style manager?
    Ans: Drawings are locked in style manager to prevent multiple users from editing the same file at the same time, ensuring data consistency.
  • Q4: How will you work on drawings during their loading?
    Ans: By enabling Partial Open or Demand Loading, you can start working on parts of the drawing while it continues to load.
  • Q5: How will you recover defective drawing files?
    Ans: Use the RECOVER or AUDIT command to repair errors and restore the defective drawing.
  • Q6: How will you change the default drawing folder?
    Ans: Go to Options → Files tab → Default Drawing Folder, then set a new folder path.
  • Q7: How will you open part of a large drawing?
    Ans: Use the Partial Open option, which allows you to select specific views, layers, or areas of the drawing to load.

    Ans: The different options are:
    • ➔ Quick View Drawings (open drawings preview)

    Ans: Use Copy (CTRL+C) and Paste (CTRL+V), or drag and drop objects between the drawing windows.
  • Q10: What do you know about QSAVE?
    Ans: The QSAVE command quickly saves the current drawing using its existing file name and location without asking again.
  • Q11: Differentiate between SAVE & SAVEAS commands?
    Ans: The difference is as follows:
    • SAVE: Updates changes in the current drawing file.
    • SAVEAS: Saves the drawing under a new name or in a different location.
  • Q12: How can a drawing be saved automatically?
    Ans: AutoCAD automatically saves drawings using the Autosave feature, which creates backup files (*.sv$) at specified time intervals
    (set in Options → Open and Save).
